The Bindlestiff Family Cirkus brings four special live experiences to share at Sinterklaas! An Old Dutch Tradition in Rhinebeck.
Bindlestiff’s Sinter Cirkus has the year off, but look for returning Bindlestiff favorites at Sinterklaas this year: Paris, the Hip Hop Juggler, in Upstate Films’ Little Theater; and in Foster’s Coach House parking lot, Al Gori’s Homespun Merry-Go-Round and daredevil comic Michael Rosman.
Plus, the historic former Vaudeville theater at Upstate Films hosts circus star Joel Jeske in a new show: JACK FROST’S SNOW DAY!
The beloved Freezemeister is back! JACK FROST is live and on stage and is taking the holiday season by storm. With a blizzard of frosty, fun-filled, family entertainment, he will warm the hearts of all ages. Witness icy illusions and mystifying magic! See juggling snowballs and snowmen impersonations! Sing along with holiday favorites “Frosty the Snowman” and “Let it snow!” Watch the
children delight in Jack Frost’s famous game of “Freeze!” And cheer on the charming champion of the “Perilous Plate Challenge!” There’s magic, music, merriment, and more with Mr. White Christmas himself. Showtimes 1:00, 2:30, 4:00 pm
In Upstate Films’ Little Theater, Bindlestiff presents Paris, the Hip Hop Juggler. Paris, given the nickname “The Hip-Hop Juggler” by Al Roker himself, has been dazzling audiences with his brand of juggling for over a decade. His combination of style, interactive stunts, witty comedy, and world class juggling talent is a guaranteed thriller. In addition to bringing his talents to the The Today Show, Sesame Street, and The White House, Paris has also gained critical acclaim for his juggling instruction, teaching at hundreds at conventions, universities, and corporations.

Next door, in Foster’s Coach House parking lot, at the corner of Montgomery and Market streets, look for a hand-made, solar-powered, monkey-decorated, bubble-blowing mini-carousel.
Al Gori originally built his Homespun Merry-Go-Round as part of his senior thesis while studying kinetic sculpture at Mason Gross School of the ARts of Rutgers University. Over the years, he’s re-built, refined, and redecorated the Homespun Merry-Go-Round many times- adding mechanical monkeys, birds, and a bubble-blower to it. Built on the rear axle of a 1968 Dodge Dart, and powered by a washing machine motor, Al calls his Homespun Merry-Go-Round “Savage Salvage” : the art of finding new and fun uses for old junk, or, getting something for nothing. The Homespun Merry-Go-Round will be operating between 11:00 am and 4:00 pm, rides are free, and young and old alike are welcome to sit and whirl.
Merely steps away, you’ll find another amazing attraction- between 12:30pm and 4:00 pm, Michael Rosman lights up the crowd with his one-of-a-kind performance. From a high school start in 1984 with juggling and unicycling, through a University Of Delaware Finance degree; to the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus Clown College; street performing in Europe and a year in the circus, Michael has become one of the most respected and sought after performers from the east coast. His comedic entertainment appeals to adults and youth, with skills including tight-wire walking, juggling, magic, balancing stunts and unicycling – and plenty of audience participation. Michael’s daredevil array of props includes bowling balls, blenders, knives, giant unicycles and tiny tiny bicycles. Showtimes, weather dependent, will be posted on site.http://www.michaelrosman.com
