For the sixth year, the Bindlestiff Family Cirkus brings an intimately-scaled but grandly imagined variety spectacle to Helsinki Hudson. You may already know that music sounds great there… but did you know that acrobats can contort and twist on that stage?  Would you believe that jugglers, oddball comedians, roller-skaters, daredevils, clowns, and sideshow thrillers can steal your breath with laughter or suspense at arm’s length?  And aerialists can swoop and twirl over head in a rare and close-up glimpse at human flight? In the first three months of 2017, Bindlestiff will bring a new lineup of Cirkus and variety arts stars to Helsinki Hudson’s stage with the unique flair and twist that is the hallmark of Bindlesitff Cirkus style. A  Bindlestiff show is one of the few in the world where you may see internationally renowned street performers, featured acts from Cirque du Soleil and Ringling Brothers, artists made known by America’s Got Talent and local legends, live, on stage, and having a great time together. Live music is a defining feature of Bindlestiff’s Cabaret shows, with witty, original tunes by a variety of brilliant accompanists. Bindlestiff’s unique style reflects deep roots in NYC’s underground club scene, nods to political street theater, and a steady respect for the traditions of American popular entertainment and illegitimate theater. Bindlestiff’s Winter Cabaret is for grown-ups only… but a family matinee will be offered on Sunday, March 12 at 3pm.
