High Heels and Red Noses - Character Biographies

Back to High Heels Red Noses Main

Kinko the Clown was born in the rural South. He has picked tobacco, operated a back-hoe, ridden the rails, walked the U.S., and is wanted in numerous states for mostly misdemeanors. He now hides his past behind a silent frown. He used to reside in a lovely park in NYC, but was brutally removed from his home only a few years ago. He has never held a job for more than a week. He juggles. And he can be dangerous.

The Slapinski Brothers: After bickering their way around the world, the Slapinskis are very happy to be performing on the Bindlestiff stage. When asked the secret to their amazing stunts, Woicheck replies, "We were connected at the mouth!" His younger brother, Woizek, is quick to add, "When we were born!" When not performing, Woicheck and Woiczek devote their lives to operating a drive-thru pierogi stand in Wichita, Kansas.

Tanya Gagne (a/k/a Feather) is co-founder of Lava and is half of the acro-band duo the Amazing Wau Wau Sisters. She runs a small circus school in Brooklyn called the Trapeze Loft, focusing mainly on acrobatics and aerial arts. She is a veteran of Circus Amok and has been performing with Bindlestiff since 1997.

Peter Bufano was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut (the home town of P.T. Barnum). He's a graduate of The Berklee College Of Music as well as Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Clown College. His music can be heard in play and movies, accompanying silent films and circuses, and on morning radio news shows. He has run away to join the circus on more than one occasion and his appearances in the ring have played to hundreds of thousands across the U.S. and Japan. Peter lives in Boston where he plays the accordion and composes music.

Harvest Moon otherwise known as the "Sultry Siren of Burlesque" recently moved to NY, from SF, where she founded/directed a group called "The Cantankerous Lollies." The Cantantankerous Lollies are the first group to perform at Exotic World, and winners of the "Best Group award several years in a row. The CL's also won Best Of The Bay Award, 2000. Harvest is a solo aerialist, as well as burlesque performer, and strut her sultry stuff at such venues as the VA Va Voom Room, Automatic Vaudeville, and Show.

Chris Hudacs has designed lights for Tiffany Mills Company, The Ordinary Theater, Paula Josa-Jones, Marta's Dance, The York Theare's "In Mufti" Series, Trinity College in Hardford, CT; and Rites & Reason Theatre at Brown University. He has been Assistant Lighting Desiner on projects for Nancy Meehan Dance, Sally Gross and Company, The National Theatre of the Deaf, and "Max Roach's America." He has been Assistant Stage Manager for entertainment for attendees of the 1998 NBA All-Star Game, and the Closing Ceremonies for the 1998 Summer Goodwill Games. He has toured with Pilobolus, Pilobolus Too, The Big Apple Circus, Marleis Yerby's Movin' Spirits, and Stephen Petronio Dance Company.
